With the use of radio signal, these can be made to communicate without wires such network is known as WLAN.
In other word, we can say that WLAN is a system of portable computer that communicate by the radio signal.
WLAN thus satisfied requirements for mobility, relocation and coverage of location that are difficult two wires.
Component and working of WLAN
The three major application areas for wireless LAN are:
1) LAN extension
2) Nomadic access
3) ADHOC networks
